I agree with you about educating the public. I think a more effective tactic is to use our clout to make politicians and those with power to change and enforce laws that would protect cyclists realize that if they don't step up, their jobs will be in danger come election time. Cyclists are a very desirable demographic to politicos, we just don't mobilize in a way that results in its maximum use.
Politicos understand what it means for their bread not to be buttered much more than the average public will ever grasp what it means to be a cyclist and how both cyclists and motorists benefit from the two sides getting along. _________________ RBC Board Member, Ride Leader |

This is a worthy effort. I have seen great results when a community exercises some muscle. It doesn't even take much work but you do need to organize in such a way so that the politicians think there is indeed muscle. Putting this girls name on something -- a path for example would be great. _________________ Stand with Sderot |
