Frank Schleck is out with a broken collar bone.

Mark Cavendish is slow.

Alejandro Petachi has got his legs back.

And Lance... he's hanging in there!

Just thought I'd post a little about Le Tour since, well, um, this is a Cycling Club forum.

Cavendish won today's stage, so I guess he's not that slow yet...

At this point, I'm betting Andy Schleck will again make a nice showing this year since he recovered well from the craziness that was Tuesday's stage. He may very well have the best team out there when it comes to a group of guys working together on their leader's behalf.

As Paul said, Cavendish turned it up and turned in a nice final sprint to finish on top today, so I wouldn't call him slow. But he traditionally always fades a bit in the overall standings once they hit the mountains. The race for the green jersey should be a good contest this year.

One thing I love about the Tour in comparison to the other televised grand tours is the video quality is so much better. Don't know why that is since Versus relies on a "borrowed" video feed too, just as Universal Sports got their feed from others during the Giro, etc., but it's leagues better.

Overall, it would be nice if someone else comes out on top of the GC besides Lance or Contador. The drama those two generate is just a bit too much.

Can you guys not post a current race result... I was hoping to watch it when I get home from a long day of work.

Since I now know that Cavendish won today's race... I guess I'll go watch Hannah Montana with my girls.

Saxobank does have a good team even with F. Schleck out.

Read up on the guys that are on Astana. Navarro and DeLaFuente are mountain goats and watch how they climb on the steep sections. During last years training, Lance say Hernandez climbs like an angel. He also has Vinokourov who has a few seconds on Contador.

Come on man we all know that's what you do every day anyway.

* * * * *

Let’s start a petition to stop drug testing. This TDF is the most boring I can remember. It was better when they were all on drugs.

Tuesdays stage with 4 tough climbs, the next to last day in the mountains, promised to be exciting. It was a yawn. The leaders seemed happy to be tourists, nobody doing anything. Thor Hushovd stayed with the climbers. Never seen that before. It was a repeat of all of the earlier stages with a few exceptions. When they were all on drugs there were some attacks, guys saying, in essence, my drugs are better than your drugs.

Phil, Paul, and Bob keep telling us how exciting this tour is. Great if you like crashes. The most exciting thing, the topic of the most conversation was a guy dropping his chain. I do it all the time and I get very little press.

Signed,

Alberto

You doing the Toga-GWB multi-level ride this Sunday Gerry? If you do and you drop your chain... I won't attack you. I'll still beat you... but it will be fair and square (as usual.)

... you'll get all the press that you could ever hope for :)

Warm regards,
Frank S

I am still rooting for Leipheimer and Radio Shack. I think that Contador will take the Tour when all is said and done. I am just hoping Levi finishes in the top 5 and that Radio Shack wins the Team competition.

Lloyd, here is a link to get the standings.

I am also happy that Contador is riding Specialized!

I take back my statement about the TDF being boring. Fortunately, they obviously do not drug test the spectators. Watching them on the Col du Tourmalet was the highlight of the tour in fact many tours. I want some of what they are smoking.
