Read 2 CommentsHi. I am new to this sport and I would like the opportunity to ride with someone back and forth to the GW Bridge. I live in New City. I have a hybrid bike. The longest distance I have done so far is 32 miles. But I am determined and can push myself. I have been averaging about 13 miles an hour. Don't even know if this is good or not but I am really enjoying the experience.

Read 13 CommentsWhat's with the gravel at Rockland Lake? I rode the outer loop yesterday and it was covered with fresh gravel from the south entrance around to the north entrance on the eastern side. Is this road repair or is the State helping Lloyd practice for next years Battenkill?

CommentSomewhat in tandem with Ian's A/B ride, I'll do another C ride. At 8:00am on Sunday 9/5, we'll meet in Memorial Park in Nyack, go through Piermont and take 9W South to Fort Lee and take a breather at the bike shop. Then we'll turn around and take the same route back. Maybe we'll see the A/B group along the way for either a hello or a wave.

Read 2 CommentsSunday's Multi-Level ride had a lot of complicated logistics with multiple start points and times, but everything went like clockwork. Dave "Naz", Limey, Mark from Queens, Marshall and I left Toga at 8:00 AM sharp. Along the way we picked up Derek, Mark D., Dennis and Steve. We made our way up 9W at a moderate pace and did a quick regroup at the Bear Mt. Bridge to hand out cue sheets. We broke into two distinct groups on the long hill leading to 218. We stopped briefly at the overlook on 218, and just as the A group rolled out, the B group was cresting the hill. We crossed the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge and stopped at the mini-mart in Beacon to rehydrate. As luck would have it the C group was there. The C riders were absolutely glowing with enthusiasm and ready to take on the 16 miles of rollers between them and Bear Mt.
