When I saw that the other riders were Derick and Ken, I knew this would be a humbling experience.  Keeping up with those two is always a challenge, but they were terrific company.  The climb up SMR was the first taste, with Derick easily pulling away from Ken and me.  We regrouped at the top, and made great time together over to Kakiat. From there, Derick pulled most of the way over to Eagle Valley Road, and Ken and I let him.  Overall it was a fun, social ride, with Ken and Derick chatting comfortably on the climbs while I used all of my breath for the pedaling.

We had hoped to see some wildlife getting their first taste of spring along the way, but it was limited.  There was an Osprey looking for lunch near Kanawaukee Circle, and the chorus of spring peepers in Harriman State Park.

We finished with over 50 miles at the advertised pace.  It was a fun ride on a beautiful day.  Many thanks to Ken and Derick for riding, and for their patience.

    Steve
